SCRIP Program Overview
What is SCRIP?
SCRIP is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, SCRIP is gift cards from national and local retailers. They are the same gift cards that can be bought at the store.
How does SCRIP raise money for La Purísima School?
La Purísima buys SCRIP from Great Lakes SCRIP Center at a a discount. The school then sells those gift cards to our families for full face value to be redeemed for full face value. La Purísima raises money by keeping the rebate or discount.
Does SCRIP require La Purísima families to sell anything?
The beauty of SCRIP as a fundraising tool is La Purísima families do not need to sell a thing. They simply buy SCRIP for regular household needs like groceries, gas, clothing, food, gifts, etc. and earn money for La Purísima School while spending their regular shopping dollars. You are always welcome to sign up friends and family for the program and their purchases will earn you tuition credit as well!

Scrip is an ongoing fundraiser that provides needed revenue for La Purisima School. It provides funds throughout the school year. Scrip is purchased in bulk at a discount by the school and then sold to you at face value. All you have to do is purchase cards and use them in place of cash, checks or credit cards for purchases you were going to make anyway.
TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO PURCHASE SCRIP- E-Scrip using the RAISERIGHT app: You can buy SCRIP and have it delivered right to your phone! Contact the school office for more information and to sign up.
- School SCRIP: Purchase gift cards in the school office Monday through Friday from 8am - 10am. Pre-orders are strongly encouraged to ensure you can get exactly what you need.

All families must purchase $2,250 worth of scrip as follows:
$750.00 on or before the end of each trimester (approximately $260.00 per month).
$750.00 on or before November 13
$750.00 for a total of $1,500.00 on or before March 18
$750.00 for a total of $2,250.00 on or before May 27
If you choose the buyout option you will pay $200.00 by September.
After September 4, the buyout fee is $300.00
If the family scrip obligation is not fulfilled on the trimester schedule (at least $750.00 per trimester or the buyout paid by September 4, $300.00 will be applied for deduction to your SMART account in increments of $100.00 on the following dates: November 13, March 18, and May 27).
Scrip may NOT be credited from family to family. You will however receive credit for family member purchases. We encourage you to tell your family, friends, and co-workers about this fundraising program.
A family purchasing a $100 grocery card weekly for a total of $400 per month would earn a profit of $192 for the school. 100 families would earn $19,200 just from groceries. Add gas, clothes, electronics, and presto, we reach our goal.
